UniFocus has stayed busy in the timeclock and attendance arena, announcing a new approach to employee clock-in at HITEC.
UniFocus introduced a smart kiosk that handles punching in, punching out and much more. The kiosk also allows employees to bid or swap shifts, implements a feature that stops the employee when attempting to punch in if he or she is not authorized to do so, and accepts electronic signatures.
“We are the first ones to introduce a product where everything is online,” said Mark Heymann, a founding partner in UniFocus. “It is fully Web-based. Employees like it because they can check their schedules or bid shifts online.”
If managers want to survey their employees, they can do so. If they have a cleaning focus, that can be programmed and displayed on the machine.
“Costs are tighter because you need fewer supervisors,” Heymann said. “It’s less expensive than a biometric clock.”
